APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION INFO
"THE MINIATURE DONKEY REGISTRY"
Registration Rules - Please Read Carefully
INSPECTION: Jacks and Jennets which are NOT out of registered parents MUST be inspected. This can be done by a veterinarian or an ADMS inspector. Official inspection sheets and a list of inspectors is available from the office. If parents are registered no inspection is required. However, ANIMALS SHOWING EXTREME DWARFISM CHARACTERISTICS MAY BE REFUSED. Consultations will be done on these cases.
HEIGHT: Miniature donkeys are defined as members of the breed by height. The miniature donkey must be 36" or under when mature. Animals over age 3 must be accurately measured and height entered on the form. The owner is responsible for this, it does not have to be done by an inspector. Measure accurately from the ground to the highest point of the withers.
PHYSICAL IDENTIFICATION: Some form of permanent registration is strongly recommended by this registry. Lip or ear tattoos, freeze branding, hot branding, ear tags, or alectronic identification may be used. Put any tattoos etc. under "description" on the registration application.
Transfers of ownership are accomplished by means of a transfer form available from the registry. Follow directions on form.
TO REGISTER A DONKEY, THE OWNER MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN DONKEY AND MULE SOCIETY. This fee is $20. US for 1997 and you will receive THE BRAYER MAGAZINE and our other services.
EXOTIC COLORS: The EC Prefix in front of miniature donkey registration numbers will no longer be used as of 11-11-96. Those animals who have previously been assigned the EC with their number will not be affected.
3 YEAR UPDATE: When donkeys have passed their third birthday, please send their original registration certificate back to the registry office with the following included. 1) Two mature photos (one of each side). 2) Mature Height to the withers. 3) $3.00 Update Fee. 4) Any other changes such as newly seen markings, new brands or tattoos, color changes, etc. An updated certificate showing the current owner and all changes will be sent back. All registrations are permanent, at any age. This certificate is a mature update.
REGISTRATION FEES: Jennet or Jack $15.00 -- Gelding $5.00 -- Transfer $5.00 immature, $7.00 mature (non-members may transfer) -- Mature Update $4.00 -- Certificate/Application Corrections $5.00 ( if mistake was made on application)

If parents of the animal are not registered with ADMS, and you have pedigree information, please send it on a separate, or send a copy of other registration certificate if animal is registered with another registry. Animals may be registered with no pedigree. If you do not have the certificate but know the registration number in another registry- note under " description".
After 1-1-96, a certificate of service (breeding certificate) must accompany the registration of any animal which is sired by a registered jack, regardless of the age of animal being registered. Otherwise sire will be listed only as "unverified". Certificates are available from office. Change of Certificate from "unverified" to Jack will be a fee of $7.00.
PREFIXES: When you register your first animal for which you choose the name, please choose a registry prefix to be permanently assigned to all of your registered animal's names. Choices are often initials, farm name or last names. This will be used to identify all your registered animals. Please use it in the same form every time. If your prefix is ABC, do not write it as A.B.C. Nobody else will be allowed to use your designated prefix. In this way, you may choose a name you prefer for your animal without worrying about whether it has been used before. We do not duplicate prefixes. There is presently no limit on the length of names. Because we have over 24,000 registered animals, we will not register a donkey without a proper prefix.
